Pastoral Care - Making caring happen

To home page
In recent years, it has been an increasing concern that All Saints Parish has grown too large for our rector alone to visit all our ill and home bound members.

Recognizing this, Fr. Adrian encouraged the formation of the Pastoral Care Team to augment his visits to members of our Parish, and preparation for the work of this important mission began. In February of 2005 twenty members of our Parish participated in the diocesan pastoral care training program. Preparation continued with Safe Church training. Following these, in the spring, the Pastoral Care Committee was officially commissioned at each of our three regular Sunday services. And the work of our mission of care began.

Our Committee now is comprised of eighteen members. We provide pastoral care to about twenty people whom we visit on a regular basis. To an additional number of people with short-term needs, we provide pastoral care in the form of visits, calls, and notes. We are thankful to have been provided warm shawls from the Knitters Group, blessed by Fr. Adrian. These shawls have been gratefully received by a number of people.

To help coordinate and improve our care, we meet monthly.

We ask that all the members of our Parish take note of parishioners whom you haven't seen in a while, whom you know can't get to church, or whom you think we should contact for these or any other reasons.

We are always looking for new members - call the Parish Office to volunteer.
